There are even comps where Rook is pretty good, even though pretty much any other melee would be better. This article relies too much on references to primary sources. There are comps like Jade/Croaky which in the right hands can be as strong as top tier comps like Pearl/Varesh or Shifu/Paloma or Croaky/Sirius. If you really wanted a list it would be something likeĪ+ tier - Paloma Pearl Shifu A tier - Varesh, Iva, Bakko, Freya, Croaky, Lucie B tier - Taya, Ashka, Uldur, Sirius, Jade C tier - Rookīut that doesn't count for team comps, that's only individual heroes or solo q. The game as it is now, anyone can be played at a high level. But I don't think they belong in an SSS tier, I don't think an S tier even exists in the current state of balance (except maybe Pearl). That's not to say Paloma isn't nearly as strong. Pearl's ability to nearly permanently silence someone while dealing out heals, damage and area control is par none in the game. And while Paloma is the god in 3s, it's Pearl whos on top in 2s. If you think Varesh is weak it's probably because you're not landing his abilities - especially his m2.īakko is good, but he's no Shifu. Varesh is probably the best ranged dps in the game, except maybe Iva. Sirius' ability to keep someone locked down nearly permanently with any partner with a CC combined with his heals and Weaken makes him extremely strong. There really is no F tier in this game, and if there was Varesh and Sirius would NOT be in it. My tier list would look something like this His E (shatter) could definitely use an AoE buff, and his ultimate is a little bit weak in that it could use a range buff, or maybe allow it to continue to chain without hitting an enemy, but currently if timed correctly it has one of the most insane damage outputs of any ultimate in the game, AND it applies both of his debuffs. He feels quite weak the first round with only recast on counter, but by round 2 the big bonus HP from shield cast makes him not only able to sustain himself, but protect key allies who are being focused down while dealing damage from the sidelines.

Also his shield gives 42 EHP back assuming you upgrade it in R2. Taking Recast for his counter (R1), Judgement application on counter (R3) and 33% better debuffs that refresh when EITHER is applied (R4) means that landing a single counter can have a huge impact on a fight. Varesh is quite weak in the beginning of the match, but his battlerites give some of the most insane bonuses in the game and they synergize amazingly well with each other. He feels weak if you play him with team mates who cannot stick next to him if he Wuju's into the enemy team, and then is slaughtered without any support. His insane amount of healing and shield strength for what is supposed to be a damage dealer makes him incredibly hard to kill if he isn't focused down, but if you do focus him down it leaves you open to setting up a counter combo. Varesh is deadliest when you pair him with somebody like poloma, who can stick next to him. In other words, he feels weak because the characters that are top tier, and thus more common, dominate him.

He also has a relatively poor match up against ashka, since he is forced to walk out of his stun, and a very smart croak will realize how to abuse stealth cooldowns and not play into the counter, kiting until his stealth is back up to get a free stun and damage off. He might feel weak because he is incredibly bad against both shifu and bako, relying on them to mess up and play into his counter twice, or counter their dashes to maintain space, to have even a chance at beating them.

He has ridiculous damage output and his debuffs are incredibly impactful (but kind of invisible).
